The Sunlit Path Committee has planned four Sunlit Path Workshops for 2016. These will be held in Pietermaritzburg (4 March), Greytown (22 April) Chatsworth (20 May), and in Phoenix (5 August). Closer to the time, we shall give you more details.
If you have not visited the Sivananda Sunlit Path Centre in Chatsworth, we take this opportunity to invite you to make informal visits during the holidays. "What is there to see?" you may ask. Well, you will find the following: A Peace Centre which has a Shrine where one can pray and turn to God for help. This Centre is decorated with beautiful pictures of exotic birds, animals, scenic wonders with inspiring and uplifting sayings by Sri Swami Sivananda. There are also counselling rooms where you may receive guidance on how to overcome bad habits. Our Sunlit Path Programmes are held in a special hall which also serves as an indoor sports facility, giving you the opportunity to play sport.
This is the age of computers. If you are not computer literate then it may pose a few challenges in your chosen career later in life. So we have a computer training centre to teach computer literacy to help you and also so that unemployed persons may acquire skills and earn a livelihood. Many of our young girls will be happy to know that we have a sewing school that teaches sewing skills. Who knows, one day you may be able to find employment in this field, or even start your own business. A Library with instructive and inspiring books is available to all Sunlit Club members. Good health is important for a successful life. For this purpose, we have an alternate health remedies clinic at the Centre. What is alternate health remedy? Come to the Centre and we will tell you more about this.
Once a week, a programme is conducted for senior citizens. Apart from the overcoming programmes, all activities at the Centre will be directed towards helping you. Indoor sports, youth conferences, talks, plays, film shows, documentaries, etc. are planned to help and guide you. Even if you have visited our centre before, please take one day off from your holidays to be at this magnificent Centre. Your parents will also like it very much. Do Come!
As we are entering the New Year, we would like to share a part of the New Year message written by our Divine Master, Sri Swami Sivananda, "The loving Lord has given you a priceless gift, a shining year, pure and clear as crystal, a year teeming with opportunities of perfecting yourself as well as working to help and elevate all those around you. Struggle hard every moment to get nearer to the Ideal. Every step you take, through every act you do, you must move towards Freedom, towards Truth, towards Light."
