Sri Rama Navami Message by Sri Swami Sivananda
Blessed Immortal Self,
It gives me great pleasure to send you this short message on the celebration of the Ramanavami day.
Deep and unfathomable like the ocean, firm and steadfast like the Himalayas, valiant like Vishnu, he was the joy of Kaushalya. Though fierce like fire on the battle-field, he was calm like the cool breeze of the Mandara Hills, patient- like Mother Earth, bounteous like Kubera the God of Wealth, and righteous like Dharma, the Lord of Justice himself. In pain or grief of his people, his heart swiftly sympathised with the sufferer. In the festive scenes which held them in joy, he, like a father shared their joy. By his honour and heroism, as well as by his gentleness and love for his subjects, he endeared himself to the heart of his people.
“There are two important themes I would like to highlight:
These are the words of Dr M. Chatrooghoon, Acting Director: Assessment, of the KZN Education Department when he addressed the learners of Greytown at the Sunlit Path follow-up workshop on Friday, 10 March at the Greytown Community Centre. Fifty-two learners from the following three schools attended: Cool Air Secondary, Greytown Secondary and Greytown High.
Seventy four (74) learners from the following three secondary schools attended the follow-up workshop at the Sivananda Sunlit Path Centre on Friday, 17 February 2017: Crossmoor, Newhaven and Risecliff. It was indeed pleasing to see that learners listened attentively and asked searching questions. An educator from one of the schools was pleasantly surprised to listen to the lively and intelligent responses of the learners from his school. He said that this must surely be due to the non-threatening environment of the Centre, which was conducive to learning.
Mahasivaratri was observed at all Ashrams and branches of Divine Life Society of S.A on Friday, 24 February 2017. It was pleasing to see that devotees gathered in large numbers to fervently worship Lord Siva, absorbed in the programme of messages from our Divine Master, Sri Swami Sivananda, an audio message from Pujya Swami Sahajananda, an audio recording of inspiring Bhajans & Kirtans by our Divine Master, Bhajans & Kirtans by devotees, chanting and offering of bael leaves to the sacred Siva Linga, video presentations, an audio recording of a play, “Old Drum New Palace” written by Sri Swami Sivananda, readings, classical dances and recitation of sacred verses on Lord Siva.
