Om Namo Bhagavade Sivanandaya
Established in 1949 by Sri Swami Sivananda
"Swami Sahajananda is an exemplary soul. He is a true replica of the divine qualities mentioned in the 16th Chapter of Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Simplicity, humility and one-pointed devotion to the Guru—all these combined in equal proportion—this is what Swami Sahajanandaji is." These are the inspiring words of our Divine Master, Sri Swami Sivananda, which were read on the auspicious occasion of Pujya Swami Sahajananda's 92nd Birth Anniversary. This auspicious event took place on Monday, 10 July at Sivanandashram, Reservoir Hills. Devotees from many parts of the country attended to celebrate the life of this great son of South Africa.
One of the most ancient, glorious and eagerly awaited events on the Hindu Calendar, Guru Purnima, was celebrated by Divine Life Society of South Africa on Sunday, 9 July at Sivanandashram, Reservoir Hills from 6 – 7am and at Sivananda International Cultural Centre, La Mercy from 8am to 12.30pm. Divine Life Society of S.A., in conjunction with sister organisations in Reservoir Hills and surrounding areas, organised a successful Hindu Dharma Campaign on Sunday, 14 May at Sivanandashram, Reservoir Hills. Despite the inclement weather and Mothers' Day commitments, there was a large turnout, represented by the following organisations: Sri Sathya Sai Organisation of S.A., Reservoir Hills Ramayan Mandalee, Dravida Society of S.A., Sri Sarada Devi Ashram, Shri Sidhdata Ashram and Divine Life Society of S.A. We were pleased that devotees from sister organisations came in support of the event and also held stalls with books and other items produced by their organisations.
